KIBUGA FOUNDATION

Kibuga Foundation was founded in 2021 with a bold mission to transform Uganda's urban landscape into smarter, more connected cities and towns. With a vision rooted in progress and innovation, we aim to create a future where convenience and connectivity thrive, empowering citizens to actively shape and influence the development of their communities.

Mission

To enhance the resilience of cities and towns in Uganda and improve their global visibility through innovative urban solutions and inclusive community engagement.

Objectives

  • Promote sustainable livelihoods for urban dwellers by mobilizing and engaging them in wealth creation programs aimed at reducing poverty and enhancing economic opportunities.
  • Advocate for green cities in Uganda by conducting campaigns, training, and educational initiatives on environmental sustainability.
  • Undertake research and launch advocacy campaigns to promote Green Cities, Peace and Security, Sustainable Livelihoods, Hygiene and Sanitation, and other related issues that support urban development.
  • Address gender-based violence (GBV) in urban communities by conducting awareness campaigns, providing training, and sharing critical information on policies and legislation aimed at reducing GBV.
  • Promote a healthy urban population by providing sexual reproductive health education and encouraging health-centered programs that improve access to health services.
  • Advocate for consumer protection in urban areas by promoting responsible trade practices and investment regimes that prioritize people’s well-being over profit.
  • Safeguard the rights of informal economy workers by advocating for inclusive policies and laws that secure their livelihoods and ensure their rights are protected.
  • Enhance development and research in areas such as Livelihoods, Humanitarian Action, General Health, Maternal and Child Health, Social Justice and Protection, Equity and Gender, Refugee Protection, Natural Resource Management, Conflict Resolution, Education, and Urban Forestation.
  • Empower urban communities to actively participate in policy processes and decisions that affect their daily lives.
  • Defend and promote the rights of urban refugees to ensure their livelihoods are secure and they have access to necessary services and opportunities.
  • Ensure access to social protection for urban populations as a means of reducing poverty and income inequality.
